Amaru films is a film production company that has as its main objective supporting Independent filmmaking. In the ancient Andean Mythology, the Amaru was a powerful being that marked the important transitions of the world.

 

Part deer, part jaguar and part serpent, the Amaru is the being that helps the transition into a new order. Many times confused with an enormous serpent (Machakuay) or a dragon, the Amaru is known to mean no harm or danger, even though its apparition, sudden and violent, its the unmistakable sign of change.

 

We have proudly taken this powerful being as inspiration and symbol, since we aspire to use filmmaking as a personal art. We believe filmmaking's Aesthetics are cultural and therefore every individual can eventually develop or discover his/her own.
